Beth, Jean, and family, I have just learned of your mother's passing. I wish you comfort in your loss. I will will miss her and the visits we have maintained over the years. No matter how long I was away from Westfield, I would arrive back and town and stop at the Patterson Library to touch base, to see her smiling face there behind the desk and to feel the sense of continuity that her Presence evoked. It was part of my grounding in "going home." I am grateful I had the opportunity to stop and visit her last year when I was home for my father's funeral. It was always a treat hearing the news of Westfield and getting a little glimpse of what Beth was busy doing. Just sitting on the porch with her reminded me of the days we played there as kids, visiting from Aunt Gene and Uncle George's home down the street. The memories are beautiful and I will treasure them always. Her Presence will be missed, but she will live on in our hearts. Bonnie
