Obituary of Marie-Louise Flexer

She was Born and raised in Poule, France in a 12 Century Castle, where she lived with her parents and older siblings. SHe managed to survive the German Occupation during WW II and came to America in 1952 on the Ocean Liner "Liberty". She became employed by the French Embassy in New York City and in 1953, her beautiful smile caught the eye of her future husband. SHe mand Morton Flexer married in 1954 in Maryland. They lived on Long Island, where she worked as a substitute teacherand eventually moved back to New York City where she was employed on Wall Street with the US Trust Company. A Westfield resident since 1981, she came to Westfield with her Husband when he became Administrator of the Westfield Memorial Hospital. "Lizette" as she was known by her family and friends, was very active around her home and helping to raise her granddaughter, Lindsay. The Flexers retired to the home they built on Allen Road in 1989.
