Obituary of Clara M. Alford

WESTFIELD - Clara M. (Miller) Alford, age 84, of West Main Road, Westfield died unexpectedly, Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at home. Clara was born on June 20, 1926 in Corry, PA, the daughter of the late George and Lillian (Osborne) Miller. Clara had been a Westfield area resident most all her life. She enjoyed working on several area grape farms, including the Johnson's and the Devlin's farms. She had also been employed by the former Westfield Health Care Center (Absolut of Westfield) in housekeeping. She enjoyed gardening and her yard. She loved crocheting and made Afghans for every one of her grandchildren. She was an avid reader. However, her family was the true love of her life. She is survived by her daughter: Carol A. (Robert) Whitman-Imfeld of Hudson, OH and her son: Ronald C. (Shelly) Alford of Mayville, NY. 6 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren and her sister Donna Leggett also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald "Jake" Alford, Jr., in 1990, her two sisters, Alice Aikens and Betty Tharp and her 2 brothers, Roy and William Miller.
