Obituary of Jodell H. Newton

A Sherman Central School graduate, Class of 1973, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served his country as a sheet metalist stationed at Plattsburgh AFB, Plattsburgh, NY, a Strategic Air Command base. He had been employed as a custodian at SKF, Inc., formerly MRC Bearings in Jamestown, NY, until his illness this summer. Jodell enjoyed the Beatles, Star Trek, JFK, and George Carlin. He also loved crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, and riding his bike to pick up the daily newspaper. Most of all, however, he cherished his family and never missed the opportunity to make someone laugh. Jody grew up attending the South Ripley Methodist Church and became a faithful viewer and contributor to The 700 Club.
