Founded in 1896 in the Village of Westfield, the Carpenter Funeral Service was the trusted name in Funerals for over 59 years. Emma Carpenter and her son Carlton, “Carpy”, as he was known by all, were charged with the care of Westfield’s departed sons and daughters.
In 1955 the Carpenters retired and sold their business to Ralph and Margery Wallace. The name of the establishment was changed to Wallace Funeral Home. The Wallace family served Westfield for 25 years, from 1955 until their retirement in 1980.
In 1980, John Brewer purchased the Wallace Funeral Home and changed its name to Brewer Funeral Home.
In the fall of 1993, Scott and Debbie Mason purchased the Brewer Funeral Home and changed it’s name to MASON-Brewer Funeral Home. In 1995 the name again was changed to reflect current ownership to MASON Funeral Home.
After 27 years of service to the community of Westfield, Scott and Debbie Mason retired following the sale of the Funeral Home to Michael K. Blodgett on June 1, 2020. Blodgett continues to keep the trusted name of the Funeral Home that the Mason's worked so hard to keep for the past 27 years.
